Data from participating centers is sent to a secure FTP server at Johns Hopkins where
it is stored and analyzed as directed by the principal investigator of a study agreed
upon by the MAGIC GROUP. MAGIC builds a "real world" database of outcomes currently
in practice.
MAGIC is driven by the participating centers and it is composed of three components:
MAGIC Centers, MAGIC Data Use Committee, and the
MAGIC Database and Analysis Group.
As shown in the diagram above, MAGIC Centers submit data to the MAGIC
Database and Analysis Group directed by Allen Everett, MD at Johns Hopkins.
Protocols for study or requests for data are submitted to and approved by
the MAGIC Data Use Committee which is composed of representatives from each of the MAGIC Centers.
The MAGIC Database and Analysis Group provides study data to all MAGIC Centers on a weekly basis via
email.
An investigator submits a protocol for study, the Data Use Committee approves it, everyone
participates, and they are PI and write the paper.
